Re:
Complaint involving the London Musicians' Association,
American Federation of Musicians of the United States and
Canada, Local 279 (AFM) and Rogers Television, London Cable
13.
Dear Sirs:
A panel
of the Tribunal has convened to review two requests: 1) the
respondent's request that the Tribunal name a mediator; and
2) and the parties' joint request for an adjournment sine
die of the above-mentioned complaint. The Tribunal has
instructed me to inform the parties of its decision.
The Tribunal
has denied the respondent's request to appoint a mediator.
Mediation being by nature consensual, the Tribunal is of the
general view that it should not be contemplated unless both
parties agree to participate.
The Tribunal
has granted the parties' joint request for an adjournment,
sine die of the hearing scheduled for November 18 and
19, 2003. The Tribunal asks that it be kept informed of the
parties' wish to resume the hearing or to have the complaint
withdrawn, as the case may be.
The Tribunal
has asked me to convey its hope that the parties will come
to a mutually satisfactory agreement in the near future.
Please
do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
Sincerely,

Francois
